Summary

William Ambler, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut in 2016. In 2019, he completed his pediatrics training at Yale New-Haven Hospital. Dr. Ambler completed his fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York in 2022. While at HSS, he worked in the lab of Theresa Lu, M.D., Ph.D. and studied photosensitivity in lupus. Also, in 2022, Dr. Ambler joined the Systemic Autoimmunity Branch at the NIAMS as a Metzger Scholar in Translational Research.

Research Statement

Dr. Ambler is interested in further understanding the mechanisms of the female sex bias in lupus and other autoimmune diseases. His research investigates the role of sex hormones on sex differences in neutrophils in health and autoimmunity.
